Thinborne, the Texas-based smartphone accessory maker specializing in ultra-thin aramid fiber cases, has launched its offerings for the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6. It is the umpteenth firm to offer protective cases for the new Samsung foldables. Some other names include Caseology, UAG (Under Armor Gear), Latercase, and OtterBox. Of course, Samsung itself offers cases and other accessories for its new products.
Thinborne cases add ultra-slim protection to your Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6
Made of premium 600D aramid fiber, Thinborne’s Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 cases are slim, stylish, and lightweight. According to the company, the cases are 0.04-inch (1mm) thick and weigh 0.85 ounces (24 grams) and 0.65 ounces (18 grams), respectively. The firm claims its innovative covers are “5x thinner and stronger than steel!” Since these are slim cases, don’t expect superb shock absorption.
As far as the style is concerned, Thinborne has kept a minimalist approach with a focus on craftsmanship. The cases have carbon fiber textures for a solid grip in a slim form factor. The company warned about cheap copies made of 1500D fiber, which usually have blurred textures with rough, oversized patterns. You should only buy the covers directly from its official website or trusted third-party retailers.
These cases are MagSafe compatible, allowing you to attach magnetic accessories or use MagSafe wireless charging. Thinborne offers a 6-month warranty on all manufacturing defects, so wherever you are, you have enough time to return the package if you aren’t happy with the manufacturing quality. The products pass through rigorous three-round quality checks, so defects are extremely rare.
Coming to the prices, Thinborne’s Galaxy Z Fold 6 case costs $89.98. The Galaxy Z Flip 6’s cover is priced at $79.98. The company ships the products globally. The covers are also available via Amazon. If you are looking for ultra-thin covers for your new Samsung foldable, Latercase also has aramid fiber solutions measuring just 0.6mm in thickness, substantially slimmer than Thinborne cases.
The new Samsung foldables go on sale on July 24
The Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 are now available for pre-order in most global markets. The new Samsung foldables will be generally available on store shelves starting July 24. Prices start at $1,899 and $1,099, respectively. If you noticed, that’s a $100 price hike from last year. There aren’t many notable hardware upgrades justifying the hike, but maybe the actual user experience is worth it. We will discuss this in detail in our review soon.
