There’s an exciting development for the users of the Galaxy A series smartphones. According to a report by SamMobile, Samsung will be expanding its Galaxy AI features beyond the flagship segment. In the future, Galaxy AI will be launched for select mid-range Galaxy A series phones.
The Galaxy A35 and A55 will be the first select Galaxy A series phones to get Galaxy AI
As per the source, Samsung will be expanding the Galaxy AI features to select Galaxy A series phones launched in 2024. The Galaxy A35 and Galaxy A55 are said to be the first smartphones to get artificial intelligence-powered functionalities. The Galaxy AI features for these devices are expected to be released through One UI 6.1.1.
One UI 6.1.1 was released alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 6 (Review) and Z Flip 6 last month. Now, it is all set to be rolled out to mid-range phones, apart from the older flagships, later this month or the next. The same update is expected to bring Galaxy AI features to the Galaxy A35 and Galaxy A55.
Furthermore, the outlet confirmed that Galaxy AI will go live for the Galaxy A35 and Galaxy A55. However, it won’t reach the older Galaxy A devices, even if they share similar hardware. Samsung may be limiting its efforts to bring Galaxy AI to 2024 or later models in the Galaxy A series.
Don’t expect the complete Galaxy AI experience
It’s worth mentioning that Samsung won’t be offering the complete Galaxy AI experience on the Galaxy A35 and Galaxy A55. Since some high-end Galaxy features are hardware-dependent, they won’t reach these mid-range handsets.
As of now, it’s not clear which Galaxy AI functionalities will be offered for the 2024 Galaxy A series. We can safely assume features requiring huge amounts of processing power will be left out. Many of Galaxy AI’s features require in internet connection, so those are expected to be on these phones.
