The OnePlus Nord 4 doesn’t seem to be easy to repair. A well-known YouTube channel for teardowns, PBKReviews, disassembled the OnePlus Nord 4, and gave the phone a rather low repairability rating.
The OnePlus Nord 4 is not exactly easy to repair
The phone received a 4 out of 10 repairability score. Needless to say, that’s very low, as the higher the number, the better. Do note that this phone is made out of metal, though.
Why is that important? Well, because the phone is metal-clad, it’s rather difficult to crack it open. Not even going into the phone via the small glass panel in the upper portion of the phone’s back is a good solution.
None of this is surprising, though. Metal-clad devices are usually rather difficult to pry open. Things do get easier once you manage to overcome that step, though.
The source also noted that the screen is the hardest to replace. That section received a 0.5/2 score. The internal design and organization received the same score, actually.
For Parts availability, ease of battery replacement, and ease of replacing other, miscellaneous parts, the phone received a 1/2 score. All that resulted in a final 4/10 repairability score.
A teardown video is now available for you to check out
The teardown video itself has a duration of around 10 minutes. It’s embedded below the article, in case you’re interested in checking it out. It’s very detailed, and if you have any questions regarding disassembling this phone, chances are this video will answer them.
The OnePlus Nord 4 is the company’s brand-new phone. This thing launched in mid-July, and it managed to surprise some people with its metal build. We don’t really see metal-clad phones as of late.
This is a mid-range smartphone, by the way, as it’s part of the company’s ‘Nord’ lineup. It does have some nice specifications, though, and it looks rather unique too.
