The entire Galaxy S21 series gets the August 2024 update in Asia

The August 2024 security update has been rolled out to the entire Galaxy S21 series of devices. The new update for the Galaxy S1, Galaxy S21+, and Galaxy S21 Ultra models is available in some Asian countries. The new firmware for these devices has the build number “G99xBXXUCGXGC”.

One of the countries where the new OS update is available is Vietnam. The company will release the new firmware in more markets at some point later this month. The “device behavior has been improved” and it is now “protected with improved security”, mentions the changelog.

Samsung is rolling out the August 2024 update for the Galaxy S21 series in a staged manner. Meaning that not all the units of these devices will receive the new upgrade right away. The users can navigate to their phone’s Settings > Software update section and tap the Download and install button for a manual check.

The August 2024 update is also rolling out for the Galaxy S23 FE users

Apart from the Galaxy S21, Samsung has also started rolling out the August 2024 update for the Galaxy S23 FE smartphone. The new firmware is now available for the users of the device in the US. The build numbers of the Galaxy S23 FE’s update are “S711USQS5CXGC” and “S711U1UES5CXGC”.

Similar to the Galaxy S21, the Galaxy S23 FE is only getting security patches without additional features in the latest update. After the US, Samsung will start rolling out the new security update for the Fan Edition units in more markets in the coming days.
