The Samsung Galaxy S24 FE is almost here, and more and more clues are pointing to it. A recent leak revealed that the device could arrive this fall. Now, the Galaxy S24 FE has appeared on the BIS database, suggesting an imminent launch in India.
Galaxy S24 FE already certified in India; launch imminent
Before a new device hits the market, it must go through regional certification agencies. In the Indian market, it is the BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) that grants these certifications. The appearance of a new product on the BIS listings means that its launch in India is just a few weeks away. The timeframe seems in line with the possible October launch pointed out by an earlier report.
As spotted by 91mobiles, the device is listed with the model number SM-S721B/DS. Samsung already enabled the support page for the device on its website, and it shows the same model number. While the latest Galaxy S24 FE certification comes from an Indian agency, the mentioned October launch is expected to be global. The BIS listing doesn’t offer any additional details about its tech specs, but we already know a lot from previous leaks.
Leaked key specs
The Galaxy S24 FE is reportedly going to be a low-key upgrade. The company would add some logical hardware improvements, banking on the Galaxy AI suite as a key selling point. The device is said to be built around a 6.7-inch AMOLED FHD+ display at a 120Hz refresh rate. It would be powered by an underclocked Exynos 2400 chip. While this would make it less powerful than the main S24 lineup, it would also make it more efficient.
Chip efficiency will be key to ensuring good battery life, as the phone is said to have a modest 4,565 mAh battery capacity. By now, one would expect at least a 5,000 mAh cell like many other phones. Anyway, the S24 FE would also feature at least 8 GB of RAM and the Xclipse 940 GPU. It’s rear camera system would have 50 MP (mainly OIS-assisted) + 12 MP (ultrawide) + 8 MP (telephoto, 3x optical zoom) sensors. Meanwhile, its front camera would be a 10 MP sensor.
Lastly, the Galaxy S24 FE would be the third Galaxy phone running One UI 6.1.1 out of the box. The first were the Galaxy Z Flip 6 (Review) and Galaxy Z Fold 6 (Review). It would also be among the first to get the One UI 7 (Android 15) update.
