A new leak claims that the Xiaomi Smart Band 9 is very close to hitting the global market. The company launched the affordable wearable in China last month, and it looks like international audiences won’t have to wait long. The report also includes some renders of the global version.
The Xiaomi Smart Band 9 looks pretty similar to the previous generation model. With the Smart Band 8, the brand made its fitness tracker more “fashion-focused” by offering a variety of interchangeable straps with all kinds of designs. The Band 9 follows that trend, adding a twice as bright display (up to 1,200 nits) and more battery.
A leak reveals that the global Xiaomi Smart Band 9 is very close
There aren’t too many technical upgrades, but that’s normal for a device in this price range. For reference, the Smart Band 9 costs less than $35 in China. Still, several users would have liked to see GPS support. Xiaomi seems to reserve those kinds of slightly more advanced features for its Smart Band Pro lineup. Anyway, according to tipster Arsène Lupin on X, the Xiaomi Smart Band 9 is “going global soon,” though he doesn’t offer any more specific details on the matter.
For reference, the 2023 Xiaomi Smart Band 8 got a global version in late September. Given what we’ve seen, it’s possible that the global variant of the new-gen model will arrive a bit sooner. The images attached to the post-show that the Smart Band 9 will be identical to the Chinese version we already know. This is good, as the design is quite elegant for an affordable product. There are straps of multiple styles and materials to suit all tastes and occasions.
The post doesn’t offer any details on the price of the global Xiaomi Smart Band 9. However, the Smart Band 8 arrived in Europe for around €39, so you can expect a similar price for the new model.
