Samsung has new devices ready for all its smartphone series. Some of these, like the Galaxy F and Galaxy M, have limited availability to certain regions. Models in the Galaxy M lineup usually reach more territories globally than the “F” ones, though. Now, the company is about to announce the most affordable variants of this series. Samsung has revealed the launch date of the Galaxy M16 5G and Galaxy M06 5G.
Samsung has just confirmed the launch date of the affordable Galaxy M16 5G and M06 5G
The company had been teasing the arrival of these affordable phones in the last few days. However, now it has officially revealed that it will announce them on February 27, first in India.
As their monikers suggest, the Galaxy M16 5G and Galaxy M06 5G will be low-end products aimed at a fairly affordable price segment. Galaxy M phones are usually based on Galaxy A series models but with design tweaks and some changes in key tech specs. According to leaks, this will be a similar case.
The Galaxy M16 could hit the market with a notched (Infinity-U) AMOLED display. Samsung has previously confirmed through teasers that the handset will run on the Dimensity 6300 chip. This is the same chip used by the Galaxy A16 5G (in some countries) and Galaxy A06 5G. It is possible that the rest of the tech specs will be very similar to the Galaxy A16 5G. However, Samsung usually integrates massive batteries in the Galaxy M variants. In December, we exclusively revealed the design of the phone in a set of renders.
On the other hand, the Galaxy M06 5G will be the more affordable of the two. This device could also inherit most of its tech specs from the Galaxy F06 5G, which in turn is very similar to the recently launched Galaxy A06 5G. That means it could feature a 6.7-inch PLS LCD display with HD+ resolution. The F06’s display has a traditional 60Hz refresh rate, while the Galaxy A06 5G’s goes up to 90Hz. However, it is quite possible that the upcoming Galaxy M06 5G will use the 60Hz display of the F06 5G model.
Last but not least, the M06 5G might come with a Dimensity 6300 chipset, a 5000 mAh battery, and 25W wired charging.
