The design will reportedly be a departure from what we’ve seen on iPhones in the past decade. Now, a report has revealed what the iPhone 17 Pro’s “camera bar” might actually look like.
Jon Prosser, a reliable tipster focused on Apple products, shared renders of what the iPhone 17 Pro’s “real” camera bar will look like on his YouTube channel Front Page Tech. Previous leaks had revealed the existence of the new design element in the rear area of the phones. However, the old renders showed a relatively thin bar with horizontally arranged sensors. The design was more reminiscent of an older Nexus 6P than an iPhone.

But, according to Prosser, that won’t actually be the case. The iPhone 17 Pro will still have its traditional triangle-shaped camera layout. However, a dark glass bar will now cover the sensor area. The cameras will be located on the left—as usual—while an LED flash, microphone, and LiDAR sensor will be placed on the right. The new model boasts a refreshed look for iPhone devices while maintaining key identity features.
The source claims to have confirmed the new design in multiple ways and was even able to see it in person. So, it’s quite likely that the iPhone 17 Pro that hits the market will look very close to what these renders show. The iPhone 17 Pro Max will probably look similar, if not identical, to its “little sibling,” although Prosser hasn’t confirmed this.
iPhone 17 Air to have a camera bar too
This year, Apple is expected to replace the iPhone 17 Plus with an ultra-slim iPhone 17 Air. Well, according to the tipster, this model will also receive the camera bar, but it will only have one lens. It is not known if the vanilla iPhone 17 will also adopt the revamped look. However, Apple will probably want to maintain a consistent look throughout the lineup.
