The first phone built for Apple Intelligence

One of the biggest features of the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max is indeed the debut of Apple Intelligence – despite it not being available at launch. Apple Intelligence will debut in iOS 18.1, which is expected to launch in October 2024.

With the iPhone 16 Pro series, Apple is bringing a few more features from the iPhone 15 Pro Max down to the iPhone 16 Pro – namely, the new 5x tetraprism sensor. So now, both Pro models have the exact same cameras, so your only choice now is the size of phone you want. Apple has also upgraded the ultrawide sensor this time around, providing everyone with a 48-megapixel ultrawide. That is going to greatly improve the macro capabilities in both photos and video.

Apple has also introduced the Camera Control "button", though the company will never call it a button. This new feature allows you to have a dedicated camera shutter button on your device, which can be used for taking photos and videos, adjusting settings like aperture, zoom and so much more.

Both iPhone 16 Pro models have grown this year, now with 6.3-inch and 6.9-inch displays respectively. This marks the first time the screen sizes have actually gotten larger, since the debut of the Pro Max model. This was done by enlarging the phones very slightly (about a millimeter in height and width) as well as by making the bezels even thinner.

Despite the apparent price increase on the "Pro Max" model last year, the prices for both models remain the same this year. That means the iPhone 16 Pro starts at 128GB of storage for $999, and the iPhone 16 Pro Max starts at 256GB of storage for $1,199. Both models are available in four colors, including black titanium, white titanium, natural titanium, and a brand-new desert titanium. The new desert titanium color looks a whole lot like some of the older gold colors that Apple has used in the past.
