Lenovo has dabbled quite a bit in devices with parts that are flexible in one way or another, and the latest seems to be a laptop with a huge foldable display called the ThinkBook Flip AI that has recently surfaced in a leak. The screen is flexible and can bend in certain ways to meet the demands of the user. Those needs are likely to change from day to day, especially for those who use laptops in a work setting. As such, it’s easy to imagine why Lenovo decided to create a device like the ThinkBook Flip AI.
As mentioned, this isn’t Lenovo’s first flexible device, nor is it Lenovo’s first flexible laptop. You can find several Lenovo laptops in its Yoga line from over the years that bend and contort, making them usable as tablets, or just regular old laptops. Lenovo also made a ThinkBook with a rollable display called the ThinkBook Plus, the 6th generation of which you’ll be able to buy this year. This new laptop isn’t even Lenovo’s first device with a foldable display.
As it so happens, it made a device called the ThinkPad X1 Fold. A foldable Windows 11 tablet/laptop hybrid running on an Intel chip that launched back in 2022. Of course, this is a proper laptop with a built-in keyboard. Whereas the ThinkPad X1 Fold was a tablet/laptop hybrid, although it did have a keyboard accessory you could attach.
The Lenovo ThinkBook Flip AI leak suggests it’s coming at Mobile World Congress
According to the leaker, Evan Blass, Lenovo is preparing to show off this new laptop at the upcoming Mobile World Congress event. This event starts on March 3 and will go until March 6. That means there are still a few more weeks to wait until Lenovo supposedly reveals this device officially. It’s unclear if this device is going to be anything more than a concept, though if it were just a concept for now, that wouldn’t be surprising.
Companies unveil concept devices all the time that may or may not make it into production. Some do, and some don’t. Take Lenovo’s ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 for example. This was a concept at first, and then Lenovo finally announced at CES that it would be available for purchase this year.
Razer’s Freyja haptic gaming cushion is another example. This was a concept at CES in 2024, and then it launched in September of that year. The same thing could happen with the Lenovo ThinkBook Flip AI if it’s just a concept. This is all speculation, of course. We don’t know whether it’s a concept or a real product that Lenovo already plans to launch.
There are no details on specs just yet
There aren’t any specs on this device to go along with the leaked images, but those should surface in due time. What’s clear is that this device runs on Windows. You can tell this by the wallpaper background being used as it’s a Windows 11 background. Other than that, the ThinkBook Flip AI could be running on anything and using any components.
That being said, our bet is that it’s either running on one of Intel’s Core Ultra chips, or perhaps the Snapdragon X Elite chipset. Since both of those have AI capabilities. Again, though, these are just guesses.
