Summary: The specifications, design, and price of the CMF Buds 2 have leaked ahead of the April 28th launch. The leak reveals features like 48dB ANC, AI ChatGPT integration, and up to 55 hours of battery life.
The CMF Buds 2 specifications just leaked. CMF by Nothing is gearing up for a launch event on the 28th of April, where it’ll introduce the CMF Phone 2 Pro. It will also unveil the CMF Buds 2, Buds 2a, and Buds 2 Plus. Now, thanks to an exclusive report from 91mobiles and tipster Sudhanshu, we’ve got an early look at the CMF Buds 2 design, full spec sheet, and price.
CMF Buds 2 design
The CMF Buds 2 carry case features a familiar square shape. It sports the CMF by Nothing logo and the signature wheel design, similar to its predecessor. Under the lid, there is the “Buds” text and a button which is probably used to pair the earbuds with another device, like your phone, tablet, or computer.
As for the design of the earbuds, they have an angled, in-ear stem design. There are magnetic pins for charging at the base of the stem and microphones for noise cancellation and voice calls.
According to the report, the CMF Buds 2 will come in three colours: Black, Orange, and Green.
Specs and pricing
The earbuds feature 11mm dynamic drivers with a PMI diaphragm, tuned by Dirac Opteo for better sound quality. There are also other features like Ultra Bass Technology 2.0, spatial audio, and an HRTF-based algorithm for immersive sound.
The earbuds feature active noise cancellation. The earbuds’ ANC is rated at up to 48dB, with Environmental Adaptive ANC to adjust it in real-time. There’s also Clear Voice Technology 3.0 and Wind Noise Reduction 3.0 to keep your calls nice and clear.
Interestingly enough, the earbuds are getting AI integration with ChatGPT via the app. There’s also support for IP55 rating for water and dust resistance and low-lag mode, and it will play nice with both Android and iOS devices.
The earbuds pair via Bluetooth 5.4 and support Google Fast Pair and Microsoft Swift Pair. The earbuds include in-ear detection, and users can tweak the EQ and ANC settings through the Nothing X app.
Battery life looks promising, too. Expect up to 13.5 hours from the earbuds alone and up to 55 hours total with the case. A full charge reportedly takes 93 minutes.
As for pricing, Sudhanshu tips the CMF Buds 2 at EUR 59 (around Rs 5,800). For reference, the first-gen CMF Buds debuted at Rs 2,499 in India, so this is a bit of a step up, but still relatively affordable.
CMF by Nothing
CMF is Nothing’s sub-brand. It was announced back in 2023 by its CEO Carl Pei. The goal of the company is to create even more affordable devices that carry Nothing’s design DNA. So far, Nothing has released several products under the CMF branding.
This includes the CMF Phone 1. There are also smartwatches like the CMF Watch Pro and CMF Watch Pro 2. With the CMF Buds 2, the company is expanding its portfolio and should provide more affordable alternatives for its customers.
