How Well Do Roborock Robot Vacuums Work For Pet Hair?

A common question we get, about robot vacuums, and Roborock in particular, is how well does it work for picking up pet hair?

As someone that does have a dog that sheds a good amount. Not as much as some other dogs, like a husky or a golden retriever, but she does shed a decent amount. I’m a great person to answer this question.

All of Roborock’s robot vacuums are pretty good with cleaning up pet hair, whether it be dog or cat hair. But their newer models are better, like the Roborock S6 MaxV or the S7, than the older ones like the S5 Max.

Powerful suction is part of why Roborock works great with pet hair

The biggest reason why Roborock vacuums work well for cleaning up pet hair, is because they use some pretty impressive suction power. Remember all of the Roborock robot vacuums are at least 2000Pa for suction, with the S6 MaxV and S7 boasting 2500Pa. Just to give you an idea of how powerful that is, at 2000Pa, it can pick up AA batteries. At 2500Pa, it can get up even the most stubborn pet hair.

It’s not needed, but I do run my Roborock S6 MaxV once a day. Since it doesn’t require any work on my end, I run it every day and it gets up all of the pet hair that my dog sheds daily. So I rarely see any dog hair on the floors – furniture is another story though.

The suction on the S6 MaxV is so powerful that it picks up dirt, hair, and dust that I don’t even see when looking at the floor. So if you’re wondering if the robot vacuum is going to get up all of the dog and/or cat hair on your floors, it will.

The new brush on the Roborock S7 should make it even better

At this point, we have not used the Roborock S7 just yet, but we will be in the near future, as the robot vacuum is slated to be released in March. But it does have a redesign brush that should help the robot vacuum do better with picking up pet hair (and other dust and debris).

The redesigned brush on the S7 gets rid of the bristles, and is all rubber. Why is this important? It means that you won’t have to worry about hair getting tangled up in the bristles. It’s a finned rubber brush, that agitates better, and avoids hair tangles, according to Roborock. It also sticks closer to the ground now, so that the vacuum is able to pick up more dirt, dust, hair and other debris off of the floor.

On paper, the Roborock S7 should be the absolute best for pet hair. Though we aren’t sure just yet if that will actually be the case, stay tuned for our full review. But with the improved and redesigned brush, and the powerful 2500Pa suction, it’s a recipe for success.

If you’ve been looking for a robot vacuum that is great with picking up pet hair, take a look at either the Roborock S6 MaxV or the Roborock S7. Both of those robot vacuums are going to work really well.
