What We're Hearing On The NBA Draft: Updated Mock With A Handful Of Changes In Round 1
We're tracking every trade involving the 2024 NBA draft, which begins with Round 1 on Wednesday and concludes with Round 2 on Thursday (watch on ABC, ESPN and ESPN+).
Before the draft, there were several key deals that shook up the draft board. The New Orleans Pelicans deferred taking the Los Angeles Lakers' first-round pick until 2025 -- the final of the three picks owed to the Pelicans as part of the Anthony Davis trade in 2019. That means the Lakers stay at No. 17 in Round 1 this year.
Another notable deal involved the San Antonio Spurs, the only team with two top-10 picks. They won the No. 4 pick via the lottery and obtained No. 8 from the Toronto Raptors as part of the Jakob Poeltl trade last year.
The other team with two lottery picks is the Portland Trail Blazers, who won the No. 7 pick in the lottery while also taking No. 14 from the Golden State Warriors -- a pick that took a circuitous route via Memphis and Boston thanks to the Damian Lillard-Milwaukee deal.
