Oppo Find 7a

Oppo Find 7a Information:

We keep waiting for Oppo to make a big splash in the smartphone market, but so far we have seen not much more than a trickle in the U.S.  The Oppo N1 was an exciting idea with the rotating camera, but with no LTE support and only working on the GSM network, we have seen little of the device.  Now they have come out with the Oppo Find 7 and Find 7a – a slightly watered down version, but the Find 7a is still running Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.

The Oppo Find 7a has a 5.5-inch Full HD IPS LCD display with 401 pixels-per-inch (PPI), but it tends to have a bluish tint and is hard to see at angles and out in the sunlight.  It uses the juiced up Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor clocked at 2.3GHz and is coupled to 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, although you can add an additional 128GB via its microSD slot.  The very good main camera is a 13MP shooter with auto focus and a dual LED flash and comes equipped with a 5MP front-facing camera for great video chatting and selfies.

The Oppo Find 7a comes with all the usual – Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, DLNA and a microUSB 2.0 connector for charging and data transfer.  It also has a large speaker on the lower back and is powered by a 2800mAh removable battery.  It measures 152.6 x 75 x 9.2mm and weighs in at 170 grams.  On top of the Android OS Oppo has the ColorOS overlay.

Oppo Find 7a Editor Rating:

The Oppo Find 7a is an attractive and ergonomically designed smartphone, with a display that has a bluish tint and is somewhat hard to see out in the sunlight or at angles.  The Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 packs plenty of power to zip through applications, videos or gaming.  The camera is very good overall and Oppo's rapid charge comes in handy as the battery loses a lot of power in standby.  The $449 unlocked price tag is very reasonable.
