The Samsung Galaxy S23+ launched as part of the Galaxy S23 family earlier today. It is the middle phone in the series, size-wise and price-wise. We’ve already covered its announcement, and are here to take a closer look at the Galaxy S23+ specifications.
The Galaxy S23+ is the middle child of the S23 series
The Galaxy S23+ looks just like the Galaxy S23, but it’s bigger. It shares a lot of its specs with the Galaxy S23, by the way. You can check out the Galaxy S23 specifications by clicking here.
Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC fuels the Galaxy S23+, or as Samsung calls it, the “Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Mobile Platform for Galaxy”. The company also included 8GB of RAM here, along with either 256GB or 512GB of storage. The storage is non-expandable, by the way.
You will find a 6.6-inch fullHD+ (2340 x 1080) AMOLED 2X Infinity-O display on this phone. That display is flat, and the ‘Infinity-O’ stands for a centered display camera hole. This panel offers a 120Hz refresh rate, and that refresh rate is adaptive (48-120Hz). It also supports 240Hz touch sampling in Game Mode.
The Galaxy S23+ specifications are quite powerful, and the Gorilla Glass Victus 2 is included
We’re looking at a 393 ppi here, and a 19.5:9 display aspect ratio. This panel does get quite bright, it goes all the way up to 1,750 nits at its peak. That is the peak brightness you can achieve under the automatic brightness setting. The display is protected by the Gorilla Glass Victus 2.
A 4,700mAh battery is included on the inside of this phone. The device supports 45W wired (65% in 30 minutes), 15W wireless, and 5W reverse wireless charging aka Wireless PowerShare. The charger is not included in the box.
It includes three cameras on the back, along with 3x optical zoom
A 50-megapixel main camera (f/1.8 aperture, OIS, 85-degree FoV) sits on the back of the phone. That camera is backed by a 12-megapixel ultrawide unit (f/2.2 aperture, 120-degree FoV), and a 10-megapixel telephoto camera (f/2.2 aperture, OIS, 3x optical zoom, 30x Space Zoom, 36-degree FoV). The phone can record 8K video at 30 fps, and 4K video at 60 fps.
On the front side of the device sits a 12-megapixel camera (f/2.2 aperture, 80-degree FoV). That camera can record 4K video as well, at 60 fps.
This handset is IP68 certified for water and dust resistance, while it comes with WiFi 6E. It also supports Bluetooth 5.3 standard, and has an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner. Face recognition is also supported. An ‘Armor Aluminum’ body is also included. 5G is also supported (sub6 /mmW).
The device measures 157.7 x 76.2 x 7.6mm, while it weighs 196 grams. The Galaxy S22+ comes in Cream, Green Lavender, and Phantom Black color options. The Samsung Store will offer some exclusive colors, namely Graphite, Lime, Sky Blue, and Red.
