Katie Price says she thinks she may be perimenopausal.

The mum-of-five, 46, suffered a miscarriage in February after falling pregnant unexpectedly over Christmas with partner JJ Slater.

Now, the veteran glamour model says she is concerned that certain symptoms she has been experiencing recently indicate she’s heading towards the menopause.

Speaking to her younger sister Sophie, 35, on her The Katie Price Podcast, she explained that in addition to “brain fog”, she had been waking up to discover her bed “soaking wet”, which would suggest night swears.

“I’m getting the brain fog going through the pre-menostal [menopausal] or whatever it’s called, and I wake up and my bed is soaking wet. I hate it,’ she said.

“I keep falling asleep. This CBD, I take two drops a night and honestly I’m having the best sleep but I’m not watching anything. It works for me.”

Price is referring to cannabidiol, a substance found in the cannabis plant often used to treat pain.

The former Celebrity Big Brother contestant recently found herself in hot water after promoting CBD and suggesting it can shrink tumours.

She continued: “So I’m just going to get my blood test because maybe I’m having an early menopause, I don’t know how it all works, but I’m still having my periods.”

Perimenopause typically begins in your 40s, but symptoms can start as early as your 30s.

The bad news for Price is that if it is the perimeopause, it can last upto 10 years before the menopause sets in.

Changing oestrogen and hormone levels can have a huge impact on cognition, brain function and mood which can cause anxiety, depression and poor memory.

Other symptoms she may experience include headaches, dry skin, hot flushes, aching joints and vaginal dryness.

This isn’t the first time that Price has discussed going through the change.

In a previous podcast, she linked it back while discussing boyband Five getting back together for a reunion tour.

“When Five are coming back and the Boyzone thing – did you see that? So we’re all looking so much older and I think, ‘they’re the same age as me” but I still don’t feel I’m old,” she began.

“But I know I am because even my body inside is going through the menopause, so I’m not a young spring chicken, it doesn’t matter how young I think I look, what tracksuit I put on and whatever.”

Price added: “My body is old! It’s scary isn’t it? Inside my body it is ageing but the outside is fresh.”
