The OnePlus 12 is a flagship phone with a perfect price tag.

The OnePlus 12 was announced in December 2023, but its global variant arrived about a month later, in January. It was announced as the company’s new flagship smartphone, with a very appealing price tag in the US. Its price tag was considerably higher in Europe at launch, however. With that being said, this smartphone does resemble its predecessor quite a bit, OnePlus once again went with curved glass on the front and back, and a piece of metal stuck in between.

The OnePlus 12 has very thin bezels on the front, but they’re not uniform. The bottom one is slightly thicker than the rest. A curved display is once again in use, while the alert slider is included on the left side. The phone is fueled by the most powerful chip that OnePlus had at its disposal, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. A large 6.82-inch LTPO AMOLED display is in use here, with a 120Hz refresh rate… which is adaptive.

Another thing worth noting is that the phone is water and dustproof, thanks to the IP65 certification. It offers up to 24GB of LPDDR5X RAM, but globally it’s capped at 16GB of RAM. UFS 4.0 flash storage is used in all variants of the phone. Android 14 comes pre-installed on it, along with OnePlus’ OxygenOS 14 skin. Do note that OnePlus promised 4 major Android OS upgrades for the device.

There are three cameras placed on the back of the phone. Wide, ultrawide, and periscope telephoto shooters are on offer here. OnePlus used a very capable Sony LYT-808 camera sensor for the main camera, and Hasselblad helped tune the colors and camera performance in general. The device can be charged up via a wire at speeds of up to 100W (80W in the US), and it supports 50W wireless charging, in addition to 10W reverse wireless charging.

    OnePlus 12
The OnePlus 12 is a flagship phone in every way, and yet it's considerably more affordable than its direct competition, at least in the US. It offers blazing fast charging, an outstanding processor, and Hasselblad-backed cameras.
    OnePlus 11
The OnePlus 11 is a worthy predecessor of the OnePlus 11, but it lacks wireless charging of any kind, and it's also less powerful than the OnePlus 12, of course. Still, it's a very competent smartphone, despite the fact it has been a while since it launched.

The OnePlus 12 comes in 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB options. It's also available in three different RAM setups. Looking at the US alone, however, you can choose between a 12GB RAM model with 256GB of storage, and a 16GB RAM variant with 512GB of storage. Those two variants are priced at $649 and $749, respectively.
The OnePlus 12 is not available via carriers in the US, unfortunately, only via retailers and OnePlus directly. You can get the phone from OnePlus, Amazon, Best Buy, and so on.
Even though it's not available via carriers, however, it will work just fine if you use any of the three major carreirs in the US, or their MVNOs. That goes for AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon, of course. It also goes for their MVNOs, so no worries.
The OnePlus 12 is available in Flowy Emerald, Silky Black, and Glacial White colors. Only the first two colors are available in the US, however.
OnePlus has promised four years of major Android OS updates for the OnePlus 12. The company also said that it will provide security updates for 5 years, so until January 2029 for the global version.
Yes, OnePlus has two cases on offer, actually. You can choose between the Sandstone Bumper case, and the Aramid Fiber Bumper case. The latter is more expensive.
The OnePlus 12 does come with advanced cooling. OnePlus included a dual cryo-velocity VC, which stands for a dual vapor chamber. Laval nozzle technology has also been included. This phone has the largest cooling surface OnePlus ever offered in a phone.
