There has been a lot of hype about RadioAndroid over the last few weeks. But really, are more Android podcasts what this community needs? Scotty Brown started broadcasting audio for the AndroidGuys Thursday Nights Podcast a few months ago,It was a new format for podcasting in the Android community that provided a laid-back experience and Android news and rumors and even fun. They incorporated humor, music, live chat, and most and a great factor, live callers. They gave normal android fans a voice and a place that they can congregate and listen with the next Android user. As one of the listeners myself its a place where anyone could call in and be heard.
The Android After Dark show will include a video stream along with the audio that you can watch on your mobile device. In order to participate you won’t have to call a phone number to dial in, but rather you’ll be on video with your camera/mic/headset… live. The show will be hosted on UStream and they had this to say about their show, “It is our goal to deliver our viewers a high quality and beautifully produced NETCAST for every program that we offer.
It is also our goal to continue to provide what we believe to be the best platform and forum for people in the Android community to express themselves and be involved with said community.
It is also our goal to deliver a medium that is attractive to sponsors so that they too have a direct voice to the Android community.
It is also our goal to provide a platform for others in the Android community to aggregate their broadcasts in with our feed to gain exposure.”
Android After Dark will be hosted by Scotty Brown, Matthew Patience, & Greg Carron Tuesday evenings, 7PM Pacific/10PM Eastern 120 minutes, Begins August 24th and I personally will be in the audience on opening night. It will definitely be a treat to see.
