Announcing the new Bing for Mobile available for Verizon Android owners. You can go to the market and find this app for FREE. The homepage for this new app features the Bing image of the day. It complete with click-able hotspots that you can explore and find related trivia.
One of my favorite features is the image search. You can scroll endless through your search results. Another cool feature is the voice search. Bing really put some focus into this and their voice search is great for map or web searching. This works especially well when looking for “Instant answers” which are quick and relevant answers for things such as movies, stock quotes, flight status and local listings.
Just touch the microphone button and say “movies,” for a quick result of movie listings, theaters and show times near you, or say the flight information you are in search of. Bing will show you the departure, arrival, and other relevant information you are needing such as traffic, weather, news, and hotels details. Voice searching for businesses is also cool.
Something many fans like is the mapping feature. Bing did nice work putting this together. It automatically finds your current location. From there, all you need to do is search and you can discover places nearby such as restaurants, movie theaters and more! You can even choose if you wanting walking or driving directions!
This sounds like a great new app! I’m disappointed that it is only available to Verizon owners. I do not see what the point of making it only available to one carrier. Do they think people will jump to Verizon just to get Bing?
