Here’s a specialized photo leak for the T-Mobile G2. The cute couple who run His and Hers Android got a closer look at the Quick Keys, so have a close-up of all 3 of them. One on the left (above), two on the right (below), and as I mentioned last week, the G2 has “one touch quick keys” to Google features. Now you can see what they look like as well as find out what they’re good for.
Can’t say I find them that easy to read. Each key has a row of 3 symbols representing the 3 quick keys, and the one corresponding to that particular key is a little larger. Guess it’s just something you’ll get used to.
Fortunately the G2 is not telling you what to use them for, it includes an app so you can decide that for yourself. The app was pulled out of that leaked G2 Android 2.2 (Froyo) build, if you’re wondering where it came from, and then @tubaking182 shared these photos with the world on Twitter.
The app directions tell you the keys are for shortcuts, and you can use them for any feature, not just the ones from Google. If you press an unassigned Quick key, you will be given a list of “available shortcuts” to choose from. Or from the Home screen, press Menu key, then choose Settings, then Select Quick Keys, and once again select a shortcut from the list.
And finally, here’s a photo collage of what the Quick Keys app icon looks like along with a short of the G2 keyboard.
