Viewsonic to Release Android Powered ViewPad 7

With IFA in Berlin just around the corner, much of the discussion has revolved around the Samsung Galaxy Tab. Viewsonic just announced that it too will be unveiling a tablet during this weekend’s festivities. The ViewPad 7 will be running Adroid 2.2 on a 600MHz ARM processor. It has been said that the ViewPad 7 is actually a rebranded OlivePad which was released by India’s Olive Telecom not too long ago. What more plausible is that they both sourced the components from the same OEM manufacturer. The name ViewPad 7 is a little misleading in that some may think that it is a Windows Mobile 7 product. The 7 actually stands for the 7 inch screen size sporting a resolution of 800 x 400. Viewsonic will also be releasing a ViewPad 10, with a, you guessed it, 10 inch screen. The cool feature about this Pad is that it will dual boot Windows mobile 7 as well as Android. Best of both worlds? Other notable features include: front and back facing camera, 3G enabled with phone capabilities, SMS/MMS, bluetooth, and VOiP functionality.
