Remember the Samsung Continuum? It got some buzz when photos leaked, but things have been quiet for this upcoming Verizon offering. The Continuum features a smaller “ticker screen” at bottom, which lets you keep the large, battery-draining big screen dark until you need it.
Android Central has a hands-on video so you can get a better idea of how this phone would work in action. One surprising thing about the Continuum you’ll see in the video: the MicroSD card slot is on the outside of the handset. Everyone’s been tucking them next to the battery, so it’s nice to see Samsung rethinking that design choice.
TouchWiz is still there as the UI, as is Bing (sigh). The OS is Android 2.1, update 1. No Froyo yet, alas. What isn’t really there is a good view of the screens, since the video was shot outdoors and the result was darkness at noon. At least Phil Nickinson tells you what you’re missing!
