Honeycomb on Your Android? No, but Here's a Mock-Up

Thanks to CES, most of us have briefly seen what Android’s Honeycomb OS will be offering. The Motorola Xoom made sure of it. Knowing that our Android smartphones will not be seeing Honeycomb doesn’t mean you can’t dream about it, right?

According to tech site Pocketnow, a higly motivated reader was inspired to create a mock-up of what a Honeycomb UI for smartphones would look like, during a discussion of the OS being tablet-only. While it’s not a completely polished product, it does give an idea of what your Android device’s UI could look like sporting Honeycomb.

The reader created a Flash-based demo of sorts, called HiVE Launcher, that demos a clickable Google Search, Voice Search, Apps, Add, Notification Bar and Scrollable Widgets. You can check it out at PRiSMAPiXEL. For what Honeycomb could maybe look like on your Android smartphone, you can head over to PrismPixel phone test. So no Honeycomb, but we still have a little thing called Gingerbread to look forward to. It’s out there somewhere.
