Google has just recently released the web-based Android Marketplace and intends to offer much more than just apps. A keen observer has noticed that there are a few URLs hidden in the framework that preview Google’s big plans. They feature the recently unveiled Books portion to go along with the Google Books app, a Music store to go along with the upcoming Google Music service and app, lastly there will be a Movies section to complete the multimedia experience. These additions place everything you need for your phone or tablet in one convenient store with one unified purchase method.
This opportunity will provide room for gigantic growth of the App Marketplace making it a seemingly one-stop-shop for all things mobile. Although the links still point to the homepage, their existence means functionality is certainly on the way.

The Books portion is already functional in Android OS 3.0 (Honeycomb, the tablet version), and the others are on their way. Keep checking back as we will let you know as soon they are live. The ability to purchase all necessary content from one central location has been what Android is missing, and this will definitely ramp up the market in a major way. What do you guys think about the new options, and the Marketplace becoming a One-Stop-Shop?
