Business Friendly
Samsung is putting a lot of effort into making the Galaxy S II an amazing device. In addition to information in the Walk-Through we showed earlier, Samsung is trying to make their offering a more enterprise friendly device. The Galaxy S II is now credible opposition in the traditional BlackBerry marketplace.
Samsung is working with Sybase to bring a level of security to their device far greater than stock Android. This includes control of applications, ports, while allowing for remote administration of devices including admin pushed app updates. Also a notable feature will be the phones extensive Exchange compatibility. Cisco was also involved and helped bring WebEx compatibility, VPN support, and VOIP calling to the smartphone. All in all this has turned out to be a very consumer and business friendly release by Samsung.
North American Release
Samsung has not announced any official availability of the Galaxy S II on this side of the pond, however the international version has some interesting compatibility. Android Central notes:
Well, the stock international Galaxy S 2 [sic] will come compatible with both the Canadian (Rogers, Bell, and Telus) and U.S. (only AT&T, sorry T-Mobile users!) 3G bands right out of the box. In addition, it can use HSPA+ for up to 21 Mbps if your carrier has it deployed.
