Pirated Content App Pulled from Android Market, Developer Whines, Issues Press Release

It seems that a few developers for our beloved Android Market aren’t too chuffed with their apps being pulled, and even moreso when the only way they find out is because their bank balance isn’t as big as they think it should be. So the developer in question has had a few words with Google, and for his part reckons he got shunned with some sort of generic blah blah blah. He was also cheesed off since he has paid $14,000 in service fees to Google for hosting the app, which went by the name of Rapid Download.  (Since Google charges 30% of sales, that means he made $33,000 from it.)

He since put up a site telling the World how unhappy he was with the situation, but it has come to light that he is nothing other than a very naughty boy as he has been encouraging the download of files, music, movies etc. and infringing  copyright. He’s even got a pair big enough to do it in the applications description. With all of this coming to light, not very many people feel sorry for him as he has been making money from people downloading stuff they have no right to have. Being responsible, we aren’t going to point you in the direction of the place where you can download it and if I did the editor would have my guts for garters.  (The editor actually thinks you may enjoy reading all the complaints people had about this app, here it is on AndroLib complete with a rude screenshot.)

The moral of the story here is don’t expect anyone to feel sorry for you if make money by offering people the ability to download stuff they shouldn’t, and then cry foul that you aren’t making any money when the Market you push that ability through pulls the rug from under your feet.  Who’s a naughty boy then?
