New Birds, Same Angry! Angry Birds Rio on the Way to Android Market

Angry Birds Rio, spinoff of the highly addictive Angry Birds games, is coming to the Android Market sometime this week.

Rovio announced via Facebook that an ad-supported version would be coming as soon as a couple of issues were sorted.

Amazon Has Ad-Free Version of Angry Birds Rio, Ad-Based to Market

While there was a suggestion of exclusivity with Amazon this seems to have extended only to the ad-free version. Releasing the app on the Android Market does make a lot of sense as it means opening up the game to a worldwide audience (since Amazon’s offerings are for the US only).
