Featured: HTC Vertex HD Tablet In The Works, Solid Specs, 10 Inch Display

With news that HTC was already working on a sequel to the One X, it appears they’re also working on a new tablet called the Vertex HD. This tablet will definitely be on the higher end compared to their Flyer line of tablets. HTC teased the Vertex HD yesterday and touted some unique features which, at this stage in the game, is harder to come by, although it seems their claims were legit.

Benchmark results were released and details are a bit slim at the moment. Samsung’s Galaxy Note 10.1 is scheduled to be released this fall so it’s no surprise that HTC needs to roll out their own 10 inch version to compete. According to the benchmarks, the Vertex HD has a display that clocks in at 1280×752, 1.3GHZ quad-core Tegra 3 processor, Beats Audio, 2 megapixel rear-facing camera, 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera, and running Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich.

Last month, the Taiwanese company announced that they were focusing on more high end devices instead of low budget devices, so maybe this tablet is a step in that direction of something that is higher quality. With many manufacturers of Android tablets and smartphones, HTC needs an edge and going the route of focusing on the higher end, may just be the edge they need to remain a popular choice among consumers.
