Featured: Motorola's Photon Q Strides Through FCC; Headed to Sprint?

It looks as though Sprint may well be getting their own Motorola QWERTY-slider some time this year or, at least that’s what we think. The Photon Q has just been rushed through the FCC with what looks to be compatibility with Sprint’s LTE bands intact. Their network is to go live on July 15th so the Photon Q could well be another device to add to their LTE line-up when the network goes live.

The device is said to be packing the now infamous Snapdragon S4 processor along with a qHD display which could place the device’s screen at 4 – 4.3-inches. I doubt anything larger than that would work as a keyboard slider device. Add all this to the included NFC connectivity that’s going to be on-board then this is shaping up to be a strong device for the carrier.

If all this were to come true then it looks like Sprint are going to be getting a decent handset to round out there LTE line-up and give a keyboard-slider device to the US’ other CDMA network, perhaps giving BlackBerry fans a more than capable alternative regardless of network, I’ve heard of people swap networks for stranger reasons.
