Featured: Sony Updates the Tablet S, Adds Guest Mode and New Apps

The latest Sony Xperia Tablet S made its debut with some significant hardware and software advantages over its predecessor the Sony Tablet S. However, Sony is not just going to sit there and see one of its tablets just roll over and die. So, as of today a new update is available in the US for Sony Tablet S owners. Unfortunately, this is not a Jelly Bean update but a 4.0.3 ICS update with some cool features and apps.

The new update also removes some features from your tablet like the DLNA app, the throwing function available in the gallery and the video & music apps widget are also vanished but you can find all these features in the new WALKMAN app and Movies app.

The best feature that comes with the update is the much desired Guest mode feature that’s available in the new XPERIA Tablet S right out of the box. This new feature brings customizations, restrictions, app access for different users on a single tablet, just like using a desktop OS like Windows/Mac. Each user can personalize the tablet according to their own needs and preference. Guest mode will also let you change access for certain apps when being used by a guest.

Other features include small apps, that will let you create an individual app window over an app to give you better multitasking, Remote control to implement specific commands, Watch Now is an app that makes a list of programs that you are likely to watch and posts on your Facebook, Twitter, GetGlue, etc and SocialLife that shows you a news from your Social networking Feed.

So, stop reading and turn-on your Tablet S Go to Setting> About Tablet > Software Update and download the much desired update right now. Do let us know how you are liking the new update.
