Featured: The Sony Xperia Tablet S Gets Shown Off (Videos Inside)

IFA 2012 has wrapped up and there were various announcements from new Android smartphones and tablets to Windows 8 devices, and so on. Sony had some pretty big announcements in the realm of smartphones and tablets.

When it comes to phones, they debuted the Xperia T, Xperia V, and Xperia J. But wait…there’s more! The Xperia Tablet S was also announced which features some pretty solid specs and is even splash proof in case you spill something on the screen. Here’s a quick recap of the specs:

  • 9.4 inch HD display at 1280—800 resolution
  • NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core processor
  • 8 megapixel rear-facing camera
  • 1 megapixel front-facing camera
  • 6,000mAh battery with up to 10 hour battery life
  • Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich

Sony has several videos showing off the upcoming tablet on their Youtube channel. They show off the Small Apps and Guest mode feature, the Universal IR remote control, Walkman app, and Album app. The Xperia Tablet S looks really nice and has some nice features that are very appealing. In a market dominated by the iPad, Android fans may just want to keep their eye out when it launches here soon.
