Lava Xolo X900 (India) gets updated to Android 4.0 – Ice Cream Sandwich
This is a device that I’ve actually never heard about, but it is an Intel Atom based device that’s pretty popular over in India. The device is finally getting some Ice Cream Sandwich love. The update is available via Over-The-Air (OTA), you can also download and install by connecting your device via USB.

Motorola Razr M hits Japan
Motorola’s new mid-range Razr that has been available on Verizon for a little while now is continuing it’s rollout across the world. The latest carrier to take on the Razr M is Softbank in Japan. Motorola and SoftBank both released Press releases today about the Razr M and its full edge-to-edge glory. The device is also capable of running on the carriers 4G network, as expected. Source
Opera Mobile gets updated to 12.1 brings with it safer surfing
One of the long time favorite browsers in the Android community before Google Chrome, Opera Mobile just got updated to version 12.1. Which brings to the table safer surfing among other improvements and fixes. Opera Mobile is available for download from the Play Store. Source
The LG Optimus Nexus goes on a picture-taking spree
Today a whole album of pictures taken with the LG Optimus Nexus “Mako” showed up on Google+. Lately we’ve seen a lot of the LG Nexus, in fact it seems like that’s all we’ve covered in the last 24 hours. The LG Nexus is also said to have 8GB of internal memory, 2GB of RAM and a quad-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz, among other juicy specs. We’ve seen pictures of the device, now let’s see how the camera performs. Source.
Developer Concerns about the missing Exynos Documents? Yeah Samsung is listening!
Samsung was flooded with requests and questions as to why they had not released all the documents for developers that want to develop on devices using an Exynos chip. Well Samsung had this to say on their Twitter account:
“We hear your concerns about documentation & source code for Exynos-based devices. We’re discussing it with our team and will update you soon… We’re taking your feedback about full document. very seriously and are working to resolve the situation. We really do value your opinions!“
Verizon let’s us in on its’ VoLTE plans, launching in 2013
So far Verizon has the largest and fastest LTE network. Currently in over 350 different markets and servicing 75% of Americans. They also announced that they will exceed their goal of 400 LTE markets by the years end. Bringing the total to 417 markets by October 18th when the switch gets flipped in 20 more markets. Verizon’s LTE will completely cover their 3G footprint come the end of 2013. About VoLTE, it’s currently being tested and due to be rolled out nationwide by the end of 2013. Source
Lookout Security App gets updated, bringing Signal flare for remote tracking
Today Lookout updated their Security app bringing a redesign making it more battery friendly and also adding signal flare. Which will help you find your device a bit more quickly. There’s also a new activity feed which shows you how your phone and data are being protected from viruses, identity theft, and financial fraud. Sounds like a good update to me. Source
Angry Birds gets updated to v2.3, brings Bad Piggies episode along with it
The success of Angry Birds has been huge! In fact earlier this year, Rovio Mobile released Angry Birds Space in which they fought pigs on the moon and on mars. Yesterday they announced a Star Wars version of the game, and just recently released Bad Piggies which is about the opposite of Angry Birds. Now the original Angry Birds game has been updated, adding Bad Piggies episode to the game, along with 15 stormy levels for Surf ‘n Turf! Source
Samsung releases version 2.2 of the S Pen’s SDK
Today, Samsung released an update for the S Pen’s SDK. Now it’s not something most users would see any difference with, it’s something the developers can use to make their apps work better with the Galaxy Note and its’ S Pen. Some of the improvements include hovering and drawing-related features. Source
