With Jelly Bean launching what seemed just like a little bit ago, the development of Android isn’t slowing down one bit with 4.2 Key Lime Pie scheduled to make its way out here very soon. Being that the upcoming Nexus (or is it Nexi if we’re talking plural?) is coming soon, this means more details to come.
One such detail that hit today was a new feature called Quick Settings which is essentially a second notification bar. In 4.1 Jelly Bean, we saw a completely revamped notification bar which is pretty awesome and allows you to swipe away notifications to remove them, among other things.
Since so many users want a quick way to access their most important settings instead of having to click settings, then the correct category, and so on, you’ll have easy access to settings such as WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, and pretty much everything. To access this secondary notification bar, when you go to swipe down the notifications bar, simply swiping a second time will reveal Quick Settings.
Android Police got an exclusive video which shows the new feature on the LG Nexus, well, kind of. It’s still in the developmental stages as 4.2 is in Alpha. You can catch it below.
