When it comes to covering news about Android, China doesn’t always come up too often despite virtually every electronic coming from them. The reality is, if it wasn’t for China, I’m sure our phones and tablets would still get made, but we’d be paying more for them.
What’s interesting about the mobile market there is that 3G hasn’t been in place nearly as long as it has been elsewhere. In fact, in just three years, they’ve went from zero to 200 million 3G users. That’s a blazing fast adoption rate that isn’t going to slow down anytime soon.
China has a population of over 1.3 billion people as of this year. Compared to the US, we have a population of almost 320 million. Quite the difference. However, many can’t afford even a basic phone in China so to say that virtually everyone will get access to 3G technology, would be a bit bold.
However, this definitely shows promise. Even though Apple has started to gain more and more ground there, Android is still buzzing along with an almost insane number of devices popping up almost all the time, many from virtually unknown manufacturers.
