Sadly, it seems that Apple has gotten what they wanted yet again. Samsung hasn’t been the only company they’ve went after, also going after other companies such as HTC and Motorola Mobility in different markets. One market where they weren’t happy with Motorola’s offerings was the German market and it appears that the now Google owned company has backed out, at least for now.
Both Motorola and Apple have been battling it out with Motorola winning a non-preliminary injunction in December of last year, quickly followed by a preliminary injunction over Apple and their use of a push notification patent. That wasn’t enough though considering that Apple won three different injunctions. Since then, the company removed most of their devices from the German market except for the RAZR I and RAZR HD.
The RAZR I launched in the UK last month and the RAZR HD is scheduled to be released here hopefully soon after an unexpected delay. There’s speculation that Motorola pulled out of the German market due to the battling with Apple, but some also say that it’s because they weren’t doing so great in the German market to begin with.
Either way you look at it, the constant turmoil and fighting with Apple couldn’t have helped.
