Google Wallet has been gaining traction in retail locations across the United States and it looks like we’ll be seeing something new. Google updated the Wallet website and with that they say that a new version is coming soon.
To request an invite, simply go here. This time around, the big G isn’t just focusing on specific Android devices. In fact, when you request an invite, it asks what you’re using such as an iPhone or even “Other”. After all, if Wallet is to become more widely adopted, it needs to be available on far more devices.
When it does become available on far more devices, that means retail stores have an even bigger benefit to adding the proper terminals. As far as details of what’s to come, we’re pretty much left in the dark for the time being.
All we know is that Wallet won’t just be for Android anymore. However, we’ll likely see all sorts of updates and improvements made in the next version. In the meantime, we’ll just have to sit back and see what happens. Hopefully invites aren’t too far out and we’ll get an inside look here soon.
