Last week at CES, Archos introduced a whole line of Titanium tablets (no they aren’t made of Titanium material). But they didn’t give us any pricing information. Well now we have information about at least on of those tablets. The Archos 70 Titanium is their 7-inch tablet with some okay-ish specs. As a reminder, here are the specs for the Archos 70 Titanium:
- 7-inch 1024×600 resolution IPS Display
- 8GB of internal storage; Expandable via micro SD card slot
- 1.6GHz dual-core processor
- 1GB RAM
- front-facing camera (unspecified specs for the camera)
- Android 4.1
So it’s not a bad looking tablet and not to bad on the specs either. And all of this for just $119. It’s looking like 2013 is going to be the year of 5-inch, 1080p phones and cheap tablets. Although we can thank Google and ASUS for the cheap tablets. They started that trend with the Nexus 7. This Archos 70 Titanium is probably the cheapest tablet around, for the specs it has. It even beats the Amazon Kindle Fire, which is $40 more expensive and is lacking a micro SD card, and the forked version of Android that the Kindle Fire runs on. And if you’re looking for something with expandable storage to 40GB (8GB internal, plus 32GB micro SD card), and Android the way it was meant to be, you’ll want to check out this Archos 70 Titanium. After all it is only $119. Just about everyone can afford one of these, right?
We also have pricing on Archos’ other Titanium tablets. The Archos 80 Titanium which is supposed to be an iPad Mini competitor will be priced at $169, the Archos 101 Titanium is priced at $199, and the Archos 97 Titanium HD which features a retina display (2048×1536 resolution) will be priced at $249. So not bad prices at all from Archos new Titanium line of tablets. Where else could you get a 10.1-inch tablet for under $200? At least not tablet that’s not some Chinese knockoff or running Froyo or Eclair.
Most of you may not be all that familiar with Archos, but they do make some nice tablets, and are relatively cheap.
