There is big news today for the users of Hotel Tonight; a new user interface that focuses on tablets has been dropped by the Hotel Tonight development team. Hotel Tonight puts a new spin on booking hotels as it doesn’t really focus on booking in advance in the general sense. Instead, Hotel Tonight finds rooms that have not been spoken for at the very last minute and gets you the best deal on said rooms. For instance, if I were to book a room at the JW Marriott in Denver’s Cherry Creek District for tonight, I could do so for just $169, a near 50 percent discount on the regular fare. The catch here is that the rate that you see is only available for the same night that you are booking with a maximum of a one-nights stay (at the quoted rate). This is far from what we are used to when it comes to booking hotels, but is a very interesting way of looking at the task. The Hotel Tonight app will get users that need a last minute room booked and ready to check in to the hotel of choice in ten minutes or less. This is true in ten countries at the moment, with Hotel Tonight adding new locations regularly.
Today, we have a new update in the Google Play Store for the Hotel Tonight app that adds some functionality, but more importantly adds a new tablet interface for use on a bigger screen.
Most of the new features come right in stride with the new tablet UI. We have a new collage view that gives you a better look at the prospective lodging destination. The app also now offers a landscape view UI, unlike some apps in its class that still force us in to portrait mode which is getting more and more unreasonable in the day and age of keyboard docks and bluetooth keyboards and tablet stands.
The Hotel Tonight app, including its new tablet interface, is available now in the Google Play Store. Go grab it now and get your last minute hotel booking on whenever you please. The app is free and you have the potential to get some great deals on rooms all around the world.
