In a flurry of new devices being released over the past few months, especially from LG Electronics, we have uncovered yet another addition to their widely popular Optimus series. We have covered many of LG’s smartphones during the year, ranging from their very recent announcement of their Optimus G2, to the refinement of the Optimus G Pro, which was already announced and thoroughly covered, but not yet released.
Today, we have stumbled across a rumor, that of which came in the form of two leaked photos shown below, displaying LG’s latest Optimus smartphone. This device, in particular, is said to be named the LG Optimus LTE III, codenamed F1X (LG-F260S). An announcement came from a source, that mentions this device is set to be introduced to the world at SK Telecom in South Korea.
The F1X is rumored to feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon S4 Plus processor (MSM8960) that you’ll find in many smartphones from last year, including the HTC One X and the Samsung Galaxy S3, which is clocked at the typical speed of 1.5 GHz. The display is said to come with a 720p HD screen, yet the size of the display in question has yet to be revealed at this point, and the overall design of this smartphone does not appear to have strayed far from LG’s schemes that we’ve seen in previous leaks of different devices. We can reasonably expect a good battery life out of this one, as the rumor has indicated that it will contain a strong 2,540 mAh capacity.
We can also safely expect that Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean will be on board with this smartphone. Judging by the name it was dubbed, this device is going to feature LTE, and is rumored to be compatible with both W-CDMA and GSM networks alike. Among the smartphone itself is a single flip cover accessory, which is reminiscent of Samsung’s two accessories for their Galaxy Note 8.0 that was displayed at Mobile World Congress (MWC) this week in Barcelona.
We don’t have any reason to believe that this will see the US at any point, if ever, but as always, we will be sure to cover the latest as more information comes our way.
