Great news to celebrate for those in Canada who own the Galaxy Note II, as Samsung has announced yesterday that they will be sending out updates to Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean on Wednesday, February 6. You read that right; in two days. A couple weeks ago, the update has been pushed back, which left some handset owners wondering if they will even see an update anytime soon. As it appears, Samsung has once again proven their worth.
This announcement came from Samsung Mobile Canada’s Facebook page, which explained that the handset owners with national carriers will begin receiving Multi-Window and Chinese Language Support. National carriers such as Rogers, Telus, Bell and WIND are assumed to receive the update first. Some regions have already received this update which included some additional features, but few have mentioned that they already have those extra features from a previous update. Regardless, Multi-Window would be enough to look forward to as it is, which is a long overdue treat for many still.

- Customizable Notifications Panel
- Ink Effect On the Lockscreen
- Option to Disable Brightness Slider in Notification Panel

- Continuous Input using Samsung’s Keyboard (Like Swype or Android’s 4.2 Keyboard)
Multi-Window is a feature that, as its name suggests, allows one to open two apps side by side (or top to bottom, depending on how you hold it) which originated in the Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet released August of 2012. It has been a process in the works with some massive overhauls, as it is without root, you can split up to 16 different apps such as YouTube, Internet, Gmail, Chrome etc. With root on your phone, it can support virtually any app available on the Google Play Store. It’s a very handy feature to have when you like to do more than one thing at a time, and a very good way to use the giant screen that the Note II utilizes.
