At appears that T-Mobile USA is planning to add a new Android phone to their list of smart phones. A couple of days ago, evleaks reported that the FCC approved the Samsung Galaxy Exhibit (which is basically a variant of the Samsung Galaxy S3 mini, SGH-T599) for the use on T-Mobiles network. This Exhibit should not be confused with the Samsung Exhibit 4G that is already available on the market.
According to the leak, the phone will have the same hardware specs as the international version of the Samsung Galaxy S3 mini, which are:
- 1 GHz dual-core Cortex-A9
- Super AMOLED 480 x 800 pixels , 4.0 inches screen (233 ppi pixel density)
- MicroSD slot with up to 32 GB
- 8/16 GB
- 1 GB RAM
- 5 Megapixel camera with 720p video recording
- Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean)
- NFC chip
- 121.6 x 63 x 9.9 mm dimensions (4.79 x 2.48 x 0.39 in)
- Weight of 111.5 g (3.92 oz)
The leak also stated that the phone will come with a 4G-complaiant chip, but it does not specify if it is LTE or HSPA+.
Seeing that the phone got the FCC go-ahead to be sold in the US, it won’t be long until you will be able to buy the new Samsung Exhibit from T-Mobile. The price was not disclosed however, we have all the reasons to believe that it will be a mid-range priced phone. But just to have an idea of the price that the phone will come, in the UK the phone is available with a £15 contract through TalkMobile, or at a price of £290 (or $456) unlocked.
So if you like the Samsung Galaxy S3, but you don’t like its screen size and you are not looking for a high-end phone, the Exhibit will be right on your alley, not to mention it will be less pricey than its big brother.
