Another Saturday, another cartoon, another benchmark. With the amount of rumors surrounding the Galaxy S IV, it’s gaining popularity among enthusiasts and consumers alike. Speculations that point out to a release that is just around the corner, and other innuendos that has scoured the internet, have been a hot topic as of late. The benchmark in question was performed by AnTuTu, and is the second of its kind released within a short period of time.
As seen from the image above, the benchmark pulls a hefty 24,317 – significantly greater than the top benchmark as of this day, which happens to be Asus’ Padfone 2, scoring at 20,190. That’s good news right there, because we all know that more power is never a bad deal. As usual, we should take benchmarks with a grain of salt, as they don’t determine real world performance.
There have been indications of Samsung’s latest flagship device to use Qualcomm’s new line of processors, featuring the Adreno 320 GPU. Interestingly enough, there are also rumors of it using the Exynos 5 Octa that Samsung unveiled at Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2013.
Both processors are powerhouses and they each have their own advantage when it comes to power management, performance, and efficiency. Qualcomm uses Quick Charge 1.0 to gain a significantly faster charge, while the Exynos 5 Octa uses ARM’s big.LITTLE technology to compensate for a longer lasting battery altogether. It wouldn’t be a surprise to see one of Qualcomm’s chips inside, but it might be better off overall to opt for the Exynos 5 Octa.
Coupled with the benchmark leak, are some photos from Picasa of an Exchangeable Image File Format (EXIF) with the image to one side and the data on the other, as shown below:
As you can see, the model number is the same as previous leaks; GT-I9505. Other details are noted, but are still speculation, as the pictures can be questionable in regards to accuracy. It’s possible that the whole thing could be made up, but we can count on the likeliness of these types of leaks popping up more and more as the time approaches for the unveiling of this enigmatic curio. For now though, we see it as progress, and anything that pushes us further to keep our curiosity from stagnating is good enough for me.
