Thanks to our new friends over at DODOcase, today we’re reviewing the Hardcover DODOcase for the Nexus 7 and the Durables Wallet for the Nexus 4. Both of these cases are really nicely built and you can tell that they aren’t cheap. We’re going to start out with the Nexus 7 Hardcover DODOcase review then the second half of this review will be the Durables Wallet for the Google Nexus 4.
Hardcover for the Nexus 7
The hardcover case for the Nexus 7 is a nice looking case. DODOcase likes to boast that their cases are handmade in San Francisco, so you are supporting an American product. The Hardcover was designed to look and feel like a hard-bound book, and boy does it live up to that. The hardcover also has smart cover functionality, or more simply put, it has a magnet to wake and put your Nexus 7 to sleep when opening and closing the case. There is also a nice elastic that goes along the edge to keep it closed. In addition there are a few ways you can use the case to type on your Nexus 7 or simply use it for media consumption like watching Netflix.
Pros:
- Premium case that comes in all kinds of colors and personalization
- Very portable and great looking
Cons:
- Once you put your Nexus 7 in the case, you won’t want to take it out. Because it won’t go back onto the adhesives.
- Isn’t available for more devices; Currently only available for the iPad Mini, Kindle, Kindle Touch, Kindle Paperwhite and the Nexus 7
Final thoughts
This Hardcover case from DODOcase is an amazing case, and I’d definitely buy another one from them. Sure it’s $35, but where else can you find a case with this many options and be this sturdy for that price? I challenge you. You can find the Hardcover case on their website along with a slew of other Nexus 7 cases. I’d definitely recommend this case to anyone looking for a case for their precious Nexus 7.
Durables Wallet for the Nexus 4
The Durables Wallet is a nice looking case for your Nexus 4. You can put your Nexus 4 in the center, and the outer pockets you can put in your credit/debit cards, license, and some cash. It’s made out of genuine mahogany leather so it’s difficult to drop it, which is always a good thing. This is DODOcase’s first Nexus 4 case, and I’m hoping to see many more coming from them.
Pros:
- Looks nice, feels great and ultra durable
- Fits the Nexus 4 nice and snugly
Cons:
- Nexus 4 doesn’t fit with the bumper or any other case on
- Doesn’t come in other colors
Final Thoughts
While I’m sad that it only comes in the one color, it is still a great case/wallet for your Nexus 4. Sure it doesn’t provide as much protection as we all would want, but it’s still great. It’s on sale for $50 from DODOcase and is available for the Galaxy S3 in addition to the Nexus 4. I’d also highly recommend this case/wallet for anyone looking for a durable yet premium feeling case for their Nexus 4.
