Samsung hasn’t ousted the price of the Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 yet, at least not in an official capacity. They left many of us to speculate on the price which will probably be seated comfortably around that of similar tablets, like the Amazon Kindle Fire, and Google Nexus 7.
A New York based retailer accidentally allowed a product page to go live which included the price, and it pretty much confirms the fact that our assumptions were spot on. Of course, Samsung has also said in the past that the Galaxy Tablets would be affordably priced.
Sometime yesterday (5/21/13) Adorama let a web page dedicated to the Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 go live. It revealed that the tablet will be packing 8GB of internal storage space along with a $199.99 price tag. That price certainly seems reasonable especially when you compare the Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 to the Google Nexus 7.
Other features of the Tab 3 7.0 include:
- Dual-core 1.2Ghz processor
- 1GB of installed RAM
- 7-inch TFT touchscreen display (1024 x 600 resolution)
- 8GB of internal storage
- 3MP rear facing camera
- 1.3MP front facing camera
- AGPS and Wi-Fi functionality
- 4,000mAh battery
- Android 4.1 Jelly Bean
Adorama has since taken down the related page most likely because they jumped the gun and it went live a little too soon. Although, it is entirely possible some of the information was inaccurate and the page needs to be revised, but I doubt it. It’s more likely that there’s an embargo of some kind for retailers and Adorama didn’t follow it.
Interestingly enough, we also know that the Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 and Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 will be launching around the same time as the 7.0. It stands to reason that Samsung is probably going to price each of them $100 higher than the others, so that means the 8.0 and 10.1 will cost $299 and $399 respectively.
Are you looking forward to the new models in the Galaxy Tab series? What size is ideal for you? If the prices turn out to be the same as what we’ve suggested, what do you think of them? Are they too expensive or just right?
