We all remember playing Skee Ball right? Before today, it wasn’t to popular in the digital world. But Google has sought out to change that with their new Chrome experiment, Roll It. When Google releases a new Chrome Experiment, you can almost guarantee that you won’t be productive for the next few hours. The Chrome team has been showing off how well instances of Chrome can play together while running on different devices. In fact, Google showed this off at Google I/O earlier this month with a racing game. Google is now moving into Skee Ball with Roll It and their latest Chrome experiment.
So now you can sit at your desk and play some skee ball on your phone, tablet or even PC. The big focus for the Chrome team with Roll It, is to show how well the accelerometer information can be transmitted and used. You can play with two other friends, and compete to see who gets the best score.
Roll It takes the force of your swing into account for each ball. If you roll too softly, you’re greeted with a disappointing failure tone. Then if you swing to hard, the glass behind the game shatters as the ball flies off the skee ball table. Touche Google. So to get your high score, it only takes the right swing at the right angle. Shouldn’t be too hard right?
It sounds like a Chrome experiment that we are all going to love. I know I’d certainly be playing it this afternoon if I didn’t have work to do.
