We all know that the new Nexus 7 is coming, we know how much it’s going to cost, and we have a pretty good idea about its specs as well. We got a look at the Nexus 7 not too long ago but now, Android Police have been passed some more shots of the Nexus 7 and we have to say, we like what we see. We’re not surprised that Google have kept the simplicity that the Nexus brand has become known for but, it is nice to see.
From the above image, you can see that the position of the front-facing camera has changed and what looks like a notification light. There looks to be a large amount of bezel here but, if that makes this Nexus a little easier to hold – especially when playing games – then we’re fine with it.
We can see as well, that Google have a fresh new wallpaper to debut alongside the new Nexus 7, which looks pretty nice. The silver bezel is now gone, replaced with what looks like a matte black one, that could well be a rubber bumper type of thing.
The new Nexus 7 is shaping up to be a nice thin tablet and we’re sure that Google have done a few things to improve the already tasty recipe that was the original Nexus 7. In these images, we can see that the rear-facing camera isn’t shy and that Google have modeled this year’s Nexus 7 after the Nexus 10 a little bit. Overall, it looks good and we can’t wait to get our hands on it.
The question a lot of people will be asking themselves is whether or not this is worth an upgrade from the original one? Well, we suppose that can only be answered yourself but, with the rumored Snapdragon 600 and 2GB of RAM inside – with a Full HD display to boot – we’d say that this year’s Nexus 7 has enough going for it to warrant an upgrade at $229.
