Red and Black Droid MAXX Leaks Out for Verizon

While the Moto X is certainly the focus of Motorola’s operations for 2013, you don’t look cold, hard cash in the face. Especially not if you’re Motorola, a company that’s not exactly doing well right now. So, this leads us to the upcoming Droid line that’s coming from Motorola once again, to Verizon’s network. It’s becoming more and more common for us to just say – another day, another leak – and here we are. This time around, it’s another shot at what could be a special edition of the Droid MAXX for Verizon. Courtesy of @srcleaks the picture depicts the style we’ve come to expect but, with a little bit of flare. The red stripe throughout the middle of the phone could well be a limited edition for the network.

We’ve already seen the staff edition leak out, and this looks a lot more like a normal version destined for customers pockets. We all know these devices are coming to market, it’s just a case of exactly when, which we’re all pretty sure is going to be next week. The device is rumored to be packing a 4.7-inch Super AMOLED Display, with a Snapdragon S4 Pro running the show with 16GB of storage. While the Droid line from Verizon and Motorola has never been the reserve of anything too spectacular, they present decent smartphones that are long supported by the network.

There’s no telling whether or not this is going to be a limited edition or some sort of promotion tie-in but, it looks pretty decent to us. It’s not for everyone, sure but, having devices that look different to others is really not a bad way to sell smartphones. Especially when you consider the front of these things is always just glass. Hopefully we see something of the new Droid line next week at Verizon’s press conference.
