Today, we finally get to see the New Nexus 7 and Android 4.3 – or at least, that’s what all the signs are pointing to. Google is holding an event dubbed “Breakfast with Sundar Pichai”, who you might know as head of both Google’s Chrome divisions and more recently, the head of Android. He’s an important man at Google and has been instrumental in the engineering of Chrome’s popularity, which is now the World’s most used web browser. While Andy Rubin may have moved onto brighter things at Google, Android is in good hands with Mr Pichai and we’re hoping to see the next step this morning.
The new Nexus 7 is set to be announced today, and while we’ve already seen it get unboxed, priced and benchmarked we’re hoping that there’s a little more Google has to make the already sweet deal, even sweeter. On the agenda for today as well, is presumably the long-awaited announcement of Android 4.3 which we’ve seen leak out and it’s already available for the adventurous types through a Nexus 4 system dump.
While we’ve not heard anything about a new Chromebook or a major update to Chrome OS, it’s still a possibility – then again how much can you fit in at a breakfast? Of more interest, is the “Chromecast” name that’s been seen in the new Play Music update and Google Customer Support is calling a “TV Service”
Below you’ll find the event embedded and you’ll be able to read all about Google’s announcements as we have the latest on them. Stay tuned and enjoy the show, which starts at 9:00 PDT and 12:00 EDT.
