Well well, what a day for this to happen? The White Version of the Nexus 4 is no longer available for purchase in the Play Store. The 16GB white Nexus was seen as “no longer available for sale” earlier on and is now no longer reachable on the Play Store website. If you can still reach the page, then it’s likely that it’s a cached version. Indeed, Google has seemingly removed the White Nexus 4 from the pages of history. Okay, so that’s perhaps a little harsh but, here’s the official statement from Google:
“The Limited Edition White Nexus 8GB and 16GB are sold out on Google Play.”
If you head on over to the Play Store looking for a Nexus 4, you’ll note that the White version is no longer hanging around below like it used to be. There’s a good chance that this means the white version of the Nexus 4 is no more, and that it won’t be returning to the Play Store. Or at least, that’s what Google usually mean when they list something with the text of “no longer available for sale”. Both the 8GB and 16GB versions of the white Nexus 4 are no longer available for sale, so this would very much look like the end of the road for the limited edition.
So, there you have it – no more white nexus 4s for us. If you managed to get your hands on one then count yourself lucky, you’ve got yourself a pretty rare Nexus 4, not that I suppose you’re too bothered. This also raises questions on whether or not Google and LG will be restocking the normal version of the Nexus 4 when stocks of that run out as well. With rumors swirling concerning the next Nexus and the Moto-X it’s going to be interesting to see if the Play Store sees the release of another Nexus this fall or not. We certainly hope it will, and I’m sure that a great many of you out there are waiting for the very same.
