Download Wallpapers From The New Motorola Droid Ultra

Verizon announced their new line of Droid devices on July 23rd of this year. The three devices look and feel like Droid phones, with squared-off corners and dark colors. They look industrial and tough. The Droid Maxx and Droid Ultra are similar devices, with 5-inch displays. The Droid Mini is smaller, and has a Kevlar back. The new Maxx is also wrapped in Kevlar. The Droid Ultra is super slim, and is supposed to begin shipping on August 27th. The new Motorola Droid Ultra is already starting to show up on people’s doorsteps, though. The device is exclusive to Verizon, along with the Droid Maxx and Droid Mini. Droid Life has been kind enough to pull the wallpapers from the unit they received today, and those wallpapers are available for download right now. There are some great space and windmill shots, and some very nice landscapes too. If you’re a wallpaper addict, or even if you’re not, you will want to check these out.

The new Droid lineup is powered by Motorola’s X8 Computing System. It’s the same processor design that powers the Moto X. These 8 cores are specifically designed to be efficient and use a minimum of battery power. 2 cores are dedicated to just app processing, meaning only apps can access these cores. 4 cores are designated for graphics processing, giving the devices better, faster, slicker looking games. The last 2 cores are used for natural language processing and contextual computing, respectively. These are used for things like voice recognition and touch-less gestures. According to Motorola, this will equate to 24% faster overall processing speeds and 100% faster graphics speeds. All of this is happening while actually increasing battery efficiency as well.

The Droid Ultra, Maxx, and Mini are almost identical, internally, to the Moto X. The software is almost identical as well. If you are looking for a stock Android experience with only a few tweaks and additions, the Droid line of devices may be what you want. Other than the outside design of the phones, they will provide you with a similar experience to Moto X.
